3.- Explica con tus palabras ¿qué es un ISP?

ISP --> Internet Service Providers
Es una compañía que provee de conexiones y soporte para poder accesar a internet.

4.- ¿Qué servicios extra proporciona un ISP?

* FTP
* Applications and media hosting
* Voice over IP
*Technical support
* Point of Presence

5.- ¿Cuáles son los tipos de conexión que proporciona un ISP? Menciona algunas características

* Dialup access --> inexpensive, uses any phone line and a modem, slowest connection option.
* DSL --> more expensive, faster connection, uses telephone lines, provides a continous connection to the Internet, uses a high-speed modem.
* Cable modem --> offered by cable television service providers, the Internet signal is carried on the same coaxial cable that delivers cable TV to homes.
* Satellite --> offered by satellite providers, the user connects through Ethernet to a satellite modem.

Internet Control Message Protocol
Standar for network layer testing and troubleshooting. Provides the ability to report diagnostic and error messages. The ping command is part of the ICMP utility.

11.- ¿Cual es la diferencia entre el comando ping y el traceroute?

ping --> test end-to-end connectivity between source and destination.
A troubleshooting tool used to verify network connectivity by sending a packet to a specific IP address and waiting for the reply.

traceroute -->Utility that traces the route that a packet takes from source computer to destination host.

12.- Cuando hablo de que un ISP debe de tener escalabilidad, ¿a qué se refiere?

Scalability --> is the capacity of a network to allow for future change and growth. Scalable networks can expand quickly to support new users and applications without affecting the performance of the service being delivered to existing users.
Feature of a network desing to include new user groups and remote sites over time. A scalable network design should upport new applications without impaction the level of service delivered to existing users.

13.- Explica con tus palabras las funciones y responsabilidades que tienen dentro los ISP?

* Custumer Service--> receives the order and requirements of the customer

* Planning and Provisioning--> determines whether the new customer has existing network hardware and circuits and if new circuits need to be installed.

* On-site Installation--> is advised of which circuits and equipment to use and then installs them at the customer site.

* Network Operations Center (NOC)--> monitors and tests the new connection and ensures that it is performing properly.

* Help Desk --> is notified by the NOC when the circuit is ready for operation and then contacts the customer to guide them through the process of setting up passwords and other necessary account information.
